Week 4

The 4th week of the year is underway! As I get older, the years seem to go by quicker. And with it already being close to month end I can tell this year is going to fly by.

This is the busiest time of year at my work, and as busy as it has been, I think I thrive in it. I was thinking to myself, this is when I really love my job. I work in the Investment side of things, so it is a busy time to get money invested with the start of a new calendar year. I assist an advisor so am keeping him busy with an average of 6 meetings a day. And it’s great. I normally love my job, but this time of year, I really love it.

I am working on my book illustrations in the mornings, take my dog out for a brief walk at 6 each morning. So I think these 4 weeks have felt great because:

– I start with creative time in the morning which gets me inspired and pumped about my project.

-I journal very briefly and get some thoughts out and intentions for the day.

– I am outside in the fresh air for a small walk, but it’s exercise and the outdoors!

– I have a busy, satisfying, productive day at work.

– Then i have my evenings for some chores, meals, tidy up, putter around, paint for my Instagram pieces and maybe a little bit of reading time.

I did get my journal / dayplanner in the mail so I have started my 2023 lists, and starting to add to my ‘good things’ list. Being happy is all about training your brain to look for the good all around you as Mel Robbins says. I was listening to Jay Shetty’s podcast today of his recent interview with her. Listening to her always puts things into perspective. She is very refreshing and relatable- more on this next week! It gives me a lot of peace.

I hope that the start to the year has been good to you as well!

Sending Love,

Devon
