Working Out

Changes at my work were announced to us a while ago, but I like to let time pass and emotions process before I share my thoughts on things that affect me as this has.

As you know, I work at a Credit Union. Gradually, more and more things have become digital with banking. People can access accounts and do many more things electronically then ever before. So it’s no surprise, that with Covid, banking adapted again, and this sped up plans to restructure the jobs. This restructuring was announced to us which means the position I have been in, will be no longer. The teller job will turn into a hybrid role of teller duties as well as some of the work that I have been doing (personal and business account openings, GICs, some Line of Credits). We were all given the choice to leave the company, or accept a new available position.

I, fortunately, will move right into the position that I wanted, as the Administrative Assistant to the Financial Planner at my branch. This has been actually part of my plan and in the works for over a year as the current assistant has been planning her retirement. So, thank you Law of Attraction? It couldn’t have worked out better if I had planned it.

Don’t get me wrong, it has been stressful and emotional. Most are choosing to leave, retire or make a new path. The unknown for many weeks took a toll on all of us, as everyone put their decision forward and I waited to find out if the stars would align and timing work out in my favour. It has been and still will be for some time, a grieving process. These people are like family to me. I have worked with them for over 8 years and most of them had been 20 plus year employees. It won’t be the same, I know that for sure. Many of us experienced what stress and anxiousness can do to our physical self. I had a stress rash all over my arms and legs, and my neck. A couple of weeks after the decisions were finalized, the rash went away. It had been unbearably itchy. (A home remedy of baking soda mixed with coconut oil, leave on for 10 minutes and wash off, worked wonders.)

So my arms and legs thank the Law of Attraction as well. Once it was all resolved, I told myself no need for panicking now, it’s all sorted out.

November 12th, I happily start my new position. I will be taking the securities course to become a licensed assistant. So the next year will be filled with lots of learning. You know I like learning new things.

Happy November to you, thank you for reading!

Sending Love,

Devon
