With what is going on globally right now, I was thinking of calling this post ‘fear’ or ‘perspective’ or ‘socially distant’.
But really, with all of these factors, what we really need to focus on are the good things. Love. Hope. Joy. Happiness. As you may remember, I had read a book called ‘The Power’ which I strongly feel led to me winning that $13,000 in the 50/50 at the World Juniors Hockey game (read about this in my post ‘Luck’ from Oct.29, 2019).
I let a friend borrow the book, and recently had the pleasure of getting this book returned to me. It has been a blessing to read and focus on these lessons again, in light of what is going on in the world. The timing couldn’t have been better for my own sanity.
From the book: “every good feeling unites you with the force of love, because love is the source of all good feelings.” “There are infinite levels of good feelings you can feel.” “You are in command of your feelings, you are in command of your love, and the force of love will give back to you whatever you give out.” “All negative feelings come from a lack of love.”
I like how the book describes eliminating bad feelings. It says, “in changing the way you feel, don’t try to get rid of bad feelings, because all bad feelings are simply a lack of love.” It says, “think of love as if it is water in a glass, and the glass is your body. When a glass has only a little water in it, it is empty of water. You can’t change the water level in the glass by waging war on the emptiness and trying to rip out the emptiness. The emptiness goes by filling the glass with water.” I love this analogy.
I think now more than ever, we can all add more water to our own glass or to anyone’s glass. Now, at a time with lots of uncertainty, fear, (toilet paper?) panic. Give love for all the things you are grateful for. Show appreciation to the helpers out there at this time. Fill a glass with me.
To your good health!
Hugs,
Devon
