Creative Director: Shift
I Create: Creative Director of my Life
Shift: To transfer from one place, position, person…. to another.
There are times when you can feel a shift taking place. The person you are at the end of a year is different from the person you were at the start of the year. You might not notice a shift for a few years. And then quite possibly, many things shift at once. Is it your consciousness expanding? Is it the growth work you have been focusing on, that now shows itself on the surface?
Einstein said that no problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it. Once you’ve shifted, solutions to things you thought of as problems, come up in a new way, with a different level of mind. Things seem easier to overcome. Things that gave some level of anxiety, you come to find, are not as big of a deal as you once thought.
How do we shift? By working on it. By working on ourselves. This might not be specifically part of your map, the journey along the way to your destination – what you want to create in life, but I can tell you it makes the road easier. Maybe I shouldn’t say easier. If you are willing to shift and grow, it takes dedication and commitment, so that part isn’t ‘easier.’ That work never ends, I think. But let’s compare it to a higher terrain. If you are on your map, creatively deciding how you want your life to be, if you are at a higher peak on the map, like a hill or a mountain, you can see the way clearer. You have a better view and sense of what direction might be better for you, and what obstacles you might encounter along the path. Shifting gives you a better view.
This year has been a big shift year for me in many ways. I look back at the ‘Reverse Gap’ – what has changed in the last year – heck, the last 6 months! (or a period of time from the past until now), and it does feel astonishing with the things that I have been wanting or considering for a long time, that got completed in this time. I picked up the momentum with our book, saying to the author, hey, let’s do this and get it going. After months of planning, I opened a Webshop for art sales in September. I took my blog in a completely new direction, reinventing it. And the book is launched! It’s printing now, and I’ve now heard it should be in my hands shortly after Christmas! My level of comfort with what I can do has expanded. Fear is diminished.
A key piece, in order to shift, is Integration, which is what we will carry on with next week.
Until then,
Devon
