Creative Director: Magnetism
I Create: Creative Director of my Life.
Magnetic: exerting a strong attractive power or charm. When you embody that which you want to become (see last week’s post if you missed it), you become magnetic. You embody the energy of that which you want to experience, drawing it to you like a magnet.
I’ve read before that the heart is stronger electrically and stronger magnetically than the brain. So we are using a lot of heart when we are magnetic. The day after I was reading about the power of our hearts, I put the information to use, and I set an intention to exude love, joy and gratitude to magnetically attract something. I then won $13,000.00 at a hockey game 50/50. Read about it in my post ‘Luck.’ I called the post luck, but what happened was magnetism. I have been working on duplicating this experience or something like it since, but the experience also kept me along this journey, to where I am today.
How does one be magnetic? Well, as I found, it was just oozing love (more of the peace kind of love than the romance kind of love – the ‘look upon everything with kind eyes’ kind of love), joy and gratitude. I could not allow annoyance to enter my perception – which is all too often the default state that I am in, and working to overcome.
Back in June, I found this post on Instagram from Jenna Black very helpful: “Your original sense of security? It’s your light. Occupy a higher volume of your light and you become unwavering in your magnetism.” I love that. ‘Occupy a higher volume of your light…’ So now, if I want to test it out and see if my energy affects people around me, I think that phrase in my head as I walk around. I visualize my self, my soul (my light), filling up a larger volume, allowing it to take up space. This is just where we don’t want to ‘play small’. We want to take up space with our light, and our heart. I’ll test this out in the grocery store, or the times I have been in the mall recently with the boys. The interesting thing is, it works. The phrase, ‘smile and the world smiles with you,’ comes to mind. Where I always had the tendency to shrink myself and would rather not be seen, people seem to notice something. They smile at me, or make way for me or allow me to go first. It has shown me that confidence can come through in a non-arrogant way. There is just kindness. And I am convinced that people can sense the volume of light. It reaches out in invisible ripples. This has been the best kind of experiment for me. It feels ok to be seen, when it is my heart, my light coming through.
Authenticity is magnetic. Jenna Black also teaches on being that ‘industry of one.’ You don’t compete with anyone. People come to you for what you have to offer – and not just in the business sense, but it could also be friendship, perhaps it’s a listening ear, perhaps it is help in some way. You don’t compete with anyone. Your light is what is magnetic. Your light calls to you what is meant for you. If you are uncertain what is meant for you – as we discussed a few posts back about your ‘True North’ – what if you occupy a higher volume of your light? What if you fill up with that? Does some aligned goodness come to you, or come to mind, that answers that?
Until next week,
Devon
