On This Day
On this day, 21 years ago, my husband and I had our first date. At a coffee house in Cook Street village, Victoria. It doesn’t feel like that much time could have passed.
On this day, last year, we had our 3 month old puppy, Calvin, and were taking him out for walks and to enjoy the summer.
On this day, last year, I found the image above. It still applies, I am often awake at 3am. Contemplating, and pondering ideas, and making notes.
On this day, 12 years ago, Jordan and I were enjoying a fun Monday with baby Owen, my younger son, who Jordan introduced as ‘his friend,’ when an acquaintance asked him about the new baby.
On this day, 23 years ago, I was in the Netherlands, on a sailboat with the other exchange students, by Amsterdam. I had emailed home about this as well as about my college application for Art School.
On this day, 17 years ago, I was enjoying time with my 3 month old son, Jordan, while on a maternity leave.
On this day, 16 years ago, our wedding was 3 days away and we were visiting my Dutch host parents who had flown all the way here to attend our wedding. I will always be grateful for that. And I still want to tell them how much that meant to me. I am so grateful to my parents as well. They hosted our wedding at their home. It was meant to be a garden wedding, but it absolutely poured with rain. So we took the ceremony inside in their great living room in front of the fireplace. It is the same spot they had their own wedding vows. The sun came out for the reception to enjoy the garden. Thank you, mom and dad.
