Solitude

“Without great solitude no serious work is possible.”  – Picasso.

I really connect with this quote because of how I work.  I very much like my quiet time.  I have stressed in the past and feel guilty if I take some quiet thinking time, as I felt like it meant I wasn’t doing something ‘productive’ or as if I am not working to improve something in my life.  Now, however, after my law of attraction and mindfulness studying, I have come to realize and appreciate how my solitude is like my meditation, and I need it to thrive.

I need it to thrive as it helps me feel centered.  I like to lie down, stare out my window at the trees and sky and quiet my mind.

I will think about my amazement at the world and universe, think back to my reading on physics and the scale of everything.

If I feel a bit anxious, I will look at a quote before my solitude so I can start my brain and thoughts in the right direction.

I keep a secret board on pinterest for all my law of attraction and positive quotes.

Some of my go-tos are:

I Am. Two of the most powerful words. For what you put after them shapes your reality.

Wisdom begins in wonder.  – Socrates

You are the Universe expressing itself as a human for a little while. – Eckhart Tolle

Never go to sleep without a request to your subconscious.  -Thomas Edison

You’re playing small does not serve the world. Who are you not to be great? -Nelson Mandela

When you realize how perfect everything is, you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky. -Buddha

Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it.  Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality.  It can be no other way.  This is not philosophy. This is Physics. -Einstein

Live life as though everything is rigged in your favour.  -Rumi

Humorously, there was a quote I saw once: “I might look like I’m doing nothing, but in my head I’m quite busy.”  This is hilarious to me as I feel like that when I have quiet time.   I am busy quieting my mind of thought and clutter, so leave me alone.

I treasure my quiet solitude.  I know this helps with how effective I am with the tasks I do want to work on and complete.  I can face each day with a good perspective.  I make sure before I fall asleep at night to take away any worries of the day and focus on my mind and gratitude.

how do you enjoy solitude? is this your meditation?
